Delay The Disease
Delay the Disease is an evidence-based fitness program for people living with Parkinson’s Disease. Delay the Disease is a nationwide program founded in Columbus, Ohio by David Zid, BA, ACE, APG and Jackie Russell, RN, BSN, CNOR. It offers specific exercises for Parkinson’s clients that help to:
- Take control of the disease progression by using dedicated exercise targeting those symptoms in Parkinson’s clients
- Empower the client to take control of the disease with daily exercise
- Improve clients’ lives physically, functionally and emotionally
- Rebuild clients’ self-confidence, hope and optimism
Delay The Disease exercise routines focus on functional fitness to help maintain daily tasks. The results may even reverse or delay some of the following symptoms:
- Altered Balance
- Bradykinesia (slowness of movements)
- Depression
- Soft, Quiet Voice
- Freezing
- Masked Facial Expression
- Rigidity
- Stooped posture
- Walking/Gait
